History is repeating itself with the relaunch of Genista Series. Through the '90s, Genista was the first choice for aspiring and professional drummers alike. Reintroduced in 2010, the Genista Series remains classic and distinctive in its sound and design but with more options available than ever before. Genista shells are available in the classic 100% American birch and now 100% American maple. The shells are 5.6mm 7-ply thick and like all professional Premier drums, the toms and floor toms are 3mm undersized for easier, more-positive tuning and clearer sound quality. The shell finish is impeccable with a choice of stunning sparkle lacquers, high gloss lacquers or classic wraps and all internally lacquered. What makes the Genista truly iconic is the distinctive lug design, finished in Diamond Chrome and perfectly complimented by the legendary 'P' badge. American maple shells are fitted with a new die-cast ISO mount in Diamond Chrome whilst the American birch feature the more traditional mounting upon the shell to enhance the quality of the birch shell.

Lalo Davila, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Percussion Studies at Middle Tennessee State University, has designed the IP-LD signature model concert snare drumstick to serve as an educational tool for the beginning snare drummer. The IP-LD is constructed of heartwood hickory, and features a slightly smaller diameter to better accommodate the smaller hands of a beginning player. The barrel shaped bead creates a full sound quality at any dynamic level, while the slightly longer taper results in an increased rebound and excellent balance. This series has been designed for Chicago Symphony Orchestra percussionist James Ross. Nine different models are offered to meet the demands of today's orchestral percussionist. James Ross graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1971. Jim has been a percussionist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1979. He made his solo debut with the Orchestra in 1986 in Milhaud's Concerto for Percussion and Chamber Orchestra under Erich Leinsdorf. Active as a chamber musician, Jim has performed and recorded with such ensembles as Chicago Pro Musica, Chamber Music Chicago, the Chicago Contemporary Chamber Players, Summit Brass and the Vermeer Quartet. He frequently participates in the Chicago Symphony's chamber music series as well as its contemporary music programs. He coaches the Civic Orchestra's percussion section and is on the faculty of Northwestern University.
